abort

ABORT(3am) GNU Awk Extension Modules ABORT(3am)

NAME
       abort - exit without running END rules

SYNOPSIS
       @load "abort"

       abort(11)

DESCRIPTION
       The abort extension adds a function named abort(), as follows:

       abort([exit-val])
              This function takes an integer argument and passes that value to
              the exit(3) C library function. If the argument is not numeric,
              it passes zero to exit(3). No matter what, gawk exits.

EXAMPLE
       @load "abort"
       ...
       printf "Goodbye, cruel world!\n"
       abort(11)

SEE ALSO
       exit(3)
